Subject: The Lust for Power

Dear Comrades,

The security operatives of the State Security Services of Nigeria, raided the premises of the the Vanguard Printers and Publishers, Kaduna and confiscated  9,000 copies of the book attached. They also went to the Centre for Democratc Development Research and Training (CEDDERT), Zaria to arrest me for writing the book. Few days before the raid they had gone to the High Court seeking for an arrest warrant to enable them arrest me but were unsuccessful.  A symposium on General Obasanjo's move to amend the Nigeria constitution so that he continues in office beyond 2007, which was organised by the students of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, was stopped by the police. Nigeria is fast descending into despotism.
